Oakland Raiders: Week 1 53-man roster projection v.3
By Sanjit T.
Wide Receiver (6): Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow, JJ Nelson, Dwayne Harris, Keelan Doss
Although he didn’t play, Antonio Brown looked good in the Silver and Black. Coming off a season in which he scored 15 touchdowns, redoing that might be tough. But with Tyrell Williams taking the top off of defenses, Brown will get a ton of catches down the middle of the field.
Hunter Renfrow and JJ Nelson also look excellent so far this summer. Although Nelson has played in only seven snaps in the preseason, he’s caught both of his targets. Dwayne Harris is locked in as the starting punt and kick returner.
Aside from those five players, only 1 more receiver will make the roster, and Keelan Doss has really impressed. Doss, the Alameda native, has been catching everything thrown his way. To date, his seven catches for 43 yards, including four first downs is pretty impressive.
If Jon Gruden decides to keep one more receiver on this team, it will be Ryan Grant. With Grant, Gruden would have six true receivers. But just like last year, he might not keep more than six.
