Green Bay Packers at Oakland Raiders: 3 things to watch
By Nick Ellis
Mike Glennon vs Nathan Peterman
After the first week of preseason, it appeared that Nathan Peterman had taken the jump on Mike Glennon. In the first game against the Los Angeles Rams, Glennon threw two interceptions and zero touchdowns. Not only did Glennon turn the ball over twice, but the interceptions were ugly.
Peterman came into the game and led the Raiders to victory, scoring a quick touchdown pass to go along with a massive run to get the team in the red zone.
Gruden was hyping Peterman up, and it looked like he may run away with the backup QB job. In the second game, Glennon had something to say about that.
The Raiders offense torched the Cardinals early, starting with a quick drive led by Derek Carr. When Glennon came into the game, we saw much of the same. Glennon hit Rico Gafford for a 53 yard bomb of a touchdown, and ended the night with 175 yards and two touchdowns, making the backup QB battle interesting again.
Peterman would play well, going 8/8 for 41 yards, but the night was clearly centered around Mike Glennon. Going into week three of preseason, both of these players will get plenty of playing time as the two players not only are fighting for the QB2 spot, but possibly for a roster spot in general.
