Quarterback (2): Derek Carr, Nathan Peterman
Everyone has known from the start that Derek Carr will be the Raiders starting quarterback this season, but the battle for the backup role has been one of the most entertaining to watch and follow.
Heading into this season, most believed that Mike Glennon would easily beat out Nathan Peterman for the job, but Peterman has shown a good amount of talent this preseason, especially in Week 3 against the Packers. He has shown head coach Jon Gruden that he can make plays with his arm, and his legs, and it was evident on Thursday night.
Peterman rallied the team to a comeback in the fourth quarter of the game to defeat Green Bay 22-21, while Mike Glennon only received one quarter of play in the game. The Raiders very well could carry three quarterbacks on their roster this year, but if they are only going to hold one backup heading into the 2019 season, it looks like Peterman is earning that spot.
