Safety (4): Johnathan Abram, Karl Joseph, Lamarcus Joyner, Erik Harris
The Raiders are loving Johnathan Abram, one of their three first round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft, as he brings a spark and energy that nobody else on the team brings. He and Karl Joseph seem to be making strides together, strengthening a position that the Raiders have lacked talent at for a long time.
Lamarcus Joyner will be spending most of his time at slot corner, but he is still listed as a safety on the depth chart, and will most likely get some reps in at safety through the season. He has proven himself to be quite the asset this summer, developing as one of the leaders on this Raiders defense.
Erik Harris emerged as a fan favorite last season, and he showed his physicality in the Packers preseason game, hitting hard and attacking the ball.
The player left out here is Curtis Riley, who was reportedly competing for a starting spot at one point. Those talks have died down, and the only way I see him making this roster is if they replace one of the corners with Joyner, and throw Riley in as the fourth safety.
The Raiders secondary looks better than they have in a long time, and this group is something that Raiders fans should be excited about.
