Brandon Parker, OT

Brandon Parker isn’t necessarily on this list because his stock dropped, because after an unimpressive rookie campaign the only way to go is up. Parker is on this list due to the fact that because of his rookie campaign, the universal hope was that he would improve in 2019, however based on preseason performance he hasn’t yet.

Parker was drafted by the Raiders in the 3rd round of the 2018 NFL draft and was the second offensive tackle taken after the Raiders selected Kolton Miller with their first round pick. Parker was originally supposed to be a project player who would be able to sit behind veteran Donald Penn for a season and learn from, however, this plan changed drastically when Penn was injured Week 4 and placed on the injured reserve list.

The second-year Parker hasn’t been given time to develop or to be mentored, however with the addition of veteran tackle Trent Brown, Parker has an opportunity to learn and grow from Brown’s tutelage. Another area that should suit Parker well is that he will serve as a swing tackle, but is also listed as Kolton Miller’s backup at left tackle, the position he played in college.

Whereas Parker has had a rough go his first year in the league I would not say hes on the chopping block, however I also wouldn’t say that he is a lock for the 53-man roster.
