Rico Gafford, WR

Oakland might have one spot available at wide receiver heading into Thursday. In the last couple of weeks, Rico Gafford has made a strong case for said spot with five catches, 84 yards and one touchdown. The converted defensive back is the fastest player on the roster (4.25 40-yard dash) and showed some route versatility against Green Bay.

Gafford’s biggest competition for a roster spot is Keelan Doss. Between the two receivers Doss likely has the upper hand, but whoever has the better game on Thursday could receive the roster spot.

Seeing as Gafford is new to the position, it might behoove him to spend a year on the practice squad and develop as a receiver. Either way, he has had some special moments this summer, and if the Raiders do not keep him, he may end up latching on somewhere else.
