Wide Receiver (6): Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow, JJ Nelson, Keelan Doss, Dwayne Harris
The wide receiver group was likely the most closely watched position battle through the entire team. Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, and Hunter Renfrow were all locks to make the lineup, but what about the rest of the group?
JJ Nelson was impressive throughout camp, grew good chemistry with Derek Carr, and showed out in the scrimmage against the Los Angeles Rams. An injury held him out of the preseason games, but even with that, Nelson should still make the roster, seeing as he is one of the fastest players on the team.
There were many young players battling for a spot, including Keelan Doss, Keon Hatcher, and Marcell Ateman. Most believed that Doss had the spot locked heading into the last week of preseason, but all three of these players put up a solid stat line.
Ateman had been nonexistent through the preseason, but he got hot early in week four of the preseason. Hatcher and Doss also had similar stat lines, but Doss had a few drops, going through a rough patch half way through the game.
Even with Doss having a rough game, he put up six receptions for 63 yards. Doss has size, athleticism, and solid route running that will earn him a spot on the team.
