On Saturday, the Oakland Raiders shaved their 90-man roster down to 53, and here are five players that they will eventually regret cutting.

With the season about a week away, the Oakland Raiders had to finalize their 53 man roster, cutting an abundance of players. The team did nothing short of surprise the fans, releasing some of the players that performed best in the preseason, and keeping some players that many expected to be cut.

The Raiders stand at No. 4 on the waiver priority list, so this in all likelihood will not be the 53-man roster the team still has when they take on the Denver Broncos next Monday night. There is only four linebackers on this roster, as well as six safeties, so expect some moves to be made in the coming days.

Overall, this is a roster with more talent than the one that took the field in Week 1 last season against the Los Angeles Rams. Derek Carr has a full grasp of Jon Gruden’s offense entering year 2, and the team did a nice job putting a bunch of new weapons around him.

With the roster cuts finished, we take a look at some of the most surprising moves of the last couple of days, and break down five players that the Raiders will regret cutting.
