Heading into 2019, the Raiders defensive line on paper is in a better unit than it was at the end of last season. However, this team will need a lot of young players to step up and produce. Over half of the linemen are either rookies or entering their second season.

With such a young group, it is a bit ambitious to expect a lot of production this season. Young players like Clelin Ferrell and Maurice Hurst certainly have potential to become productive players, but right now that’s all it is, potential.

The future is bright for the Raiders defensive line, but that future will probably come with some bumps and bruises in 2019. Look for this group to be much improved from last season, but understand that their development is a multi-year process.
