The Oakland Raiders will kick off their final season in the Bay Area on Monday night, and here is how you can watch all of the action.
The Oakland Raiders play their first of two straight homes games to kick off the 2019 season on Monday night, as they welcome in division rival Denver. Last season, the Raiders won their final home game of the regular season against the Broncos, and they will look to make it two in a row in the second game of ESPN’s Monday Night Football doubleheader.
This has been an exciting offseason for the Raiders, who brought in a first-time general manager in Mike Mayock. Through his first nine months on the job, Mayock has proven that he has what it takes to be a fantastic general manager in the NFL, and has worked perfectly with Raiders head coach Jon Gruden.
This is year No. 2 of Gruden’s return to the sidelines, after he signed a 10-year/$100 million deal with the team after the 2017 NFL season. In 2019, he has a roster with a lot more talent on both sides of the ball, as he looks to bring this team back to the top of the AFC West, where they were when he left them back in 2001.
Here is how Raiders fans can watch the season opener Monday night.
The edge rushing tandem of Bradley Chubb and Von Miller will be a problem for this Raiders offense on Monday night, but the team may have done enough this offseason to take some of the pressure off of Derek Carr. Trent Brown is arguably the best right tackle in the game, and when healthy, Kolton Miller looked very good as a rookie.
For the Raiders, this would be a perfect way to kick off the 2019 season, especially after bringing in so many big pieces to the puzzle this offseason. Oakland has the talent to make a serious run at a Wild Card in 2019, but this will be a tough test, especially with the players the Broncos have on the defensive side of the ball.
