The Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown requested his release from the team via Instagram on Saturday morning.

The Oakland Raiders star wide-receiver, Antonio Brown, has requested the Oakland Raiders release him on an Instagram post early this morning.

The Oakland Raiders are continuing to deal with the fallout of the Antonio Brown issue. Yesterday, Brown was given the green light to come back to the team and start on Monday Night in the season opener against the Denver Broncos.

Brown has been getting on the teams bad side, it seems, since the beginning. He was traded for in the early offseason after the Steelers were done with all the off the field antics the Raiders are now dealing with.

Obviously this comes as a surprise to the fan base as we all thought this issue was behind us yesterday when the team agreed he could play Monday Night and the fans had a sigh of relief.

However, Antonio Brown is making the claim the Raiders have fabricated the story of Mike Mayock in another Instagram video he posted where presumably, he’s talking with head coach Jon Gruden and General Manager Mike Mayock.

My my opinion, it’s hard to have sympathy for him with all the antics he’s given out over the course of training camp. If I was the GM or the coach I know I’d be furious.

The frustration is starting to boil over as the timeline of Brown seems to be nothing but headaches.

Back in the off season the wide receiver claimed he didn’t even need football anymore and he could move on without the game. His cocky attitude turned most teams off to him but a few were in the mix and willing to make the commitment.

The Raiders made an offer and gained the best wide receiver in football currently. From the start though he was trouble. Brown missed training camp and had unexcused absences while dealing with frostbite on his feet which left him unable to practice with quarterback Derek Carr for most of the off season.

Then in the summer he refused to join the team and decided he wasn’t going to show up. After that was the helmet saga where he claimed he would never play football again if he didn’t get his way.

After that, the most recent incident was when reports came out of him and Mayock getting into an altercation where he had to be held back by players which now leads to today for him calling for his release.

It’s time for the Antonio Brown and the Raiders to have a serious discussion about his future and whether or not he’s going to stay with the team or not. The Raiders need to make a decision of either cutting their losses or putting up with it.

In my opinion, we cut our losses and quit making this a distraction.
