Josh Jacobs

There’s plenty to be excited about in Raiders’ rookie running back Josh Jacobs. While he wasn’t given the majority of the rushing responsibility at Alabama, he’s ready to prove he can handle the load come the regular season. Jacobs played sparingly, only one offensive drive to be exact, in the preseason. But one drive was all that was needed to realize he looks like the real deal.

Against the Arizona Cardinals, Josh Jacobs had four carries for 21 yards on a single drive. He averaged 5.3 yards per carry, the longest being an eight-yard rush. He very much looked like the starting halfback from the start, and if he continues his development he very much could be worth a starting running back spot in your lineups.

Vic Fangio’s defense won’t make it easy, but Jacobs has been given the go-ahead to handle the rushing load starting Monday night. In front of the home crowd, Jacobs could be in for an impressive debut.
