The Oakland Raiders have added Keelan Doss back to the active roster following Antonio Brown’s exit to New England.

Keelan Doss was a Hard Knocks fan favorite and worked hard in training camp to prove he deserved a roster spot with the Oakland Raiders. Many fans thought his untimely exit from the team wasn’t necessary and felt his presence on a practice squad wasn’t a good use of his talents.

He brings back his tenacity for learning, absorption of information, and dedication to his team. Even in Hard Knocks episode two, he stated being from Oakland, California, it’s been a dream of his to play for the team he’s rooted for his whole life.

Doss was productive on the field for the Raiders all summer long, playing extremely well in practice, and in preseason games. He will play a role on this offense this season, but will have to continue to work his way up the depth chart.

The Alameda, California, native is heading back to his home town after the Raiders made him an offer he couldn’t refuse per Ian Rapoport.

The deal includes a fully guaranteed salary of $495K and a 300K signing bonus with $795k fully guaranteed. The Raiders needed a player to fill the spot of Antonio Brown. Although Doss won’t be able to provide the talent and experience Brown will, but he will provide heart and determination.

Due to the Brown release, the team won’t be forced to cut another player to make room for him so the roster will stay the same.

What will be new is the wide receiver core going into 2019 from last year. The team went out and got Tyrell Williams from Los Angeles, J.J Nelson from the Cardinals, and then signed Keelan Doss from UC Davis as an undrafted free agent. In the 2019 NFL Draft, the Raiders added Hunter Renfrow, who should play a big role in the slot for the team this season.

Ryan Grant, who is a great route-runner, rounds out the wide receiver room with Dwayne Harris, who will be the team’s returner once again. Doss’ resigning brings good news in a bout of bad news in the recent Raiders history. With the Antonio Brown saga over, the team can look forward to new beginnings and so can Keelan Doss.
