Cautiously optimistic

Darren Waller

Darren Waller had a fantastic night with 70 yards on 7 catches and 8 targets. He even joined in on the running game with a couple key blocks with one which led to a touchdown on the goal line.

The problem with Waller is not his talent, which we know he has, it’s the mouths to feed in Oakland. The tight end position, especially one like Waller, can be used as a blocker most of the time in a power run scheme.

The Raiders have a pass-catching running back – two, really, with Richard – an elite wide receiver, a shifty slot receiver, and a player who can play outside and inside. There’s a lot to like on this team, and I would be optimistic about him and keep him on your team.

Ryan Grant

Ryan Grant for me is a desperation play, which you shouldn’t be in at this point in the season. The first four weeks you’re playing your studs and “don’t get cute,” fantasy football words to live by.

However, as a Colts fan, Ryan Grant is someone to look at. J.J Nelson is coming off an ACL injury and he’s known for his speed, which can lead to a reinjury of his knee. Grant should be a bench player if you have room for him due to his ability to be a primary target on third down.
