Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders: Game preview and prediction
By Nick Ellis
After a Week 1 victory for the Raiders, Raider Nation is riding high as the team looks to carry the momentum into Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Oakland Raiders defeated the Denver Broncos in Week 1 by a score of 24-16, despite all of the distractions going around the organization. Derek Carr looked as good as ever, spreading the ball around to all of his new targets, getting rid of the ball quickly, and using his legs to make plays.
The Raiders face a much tougher challenge in Week 2, as the Kansas City Chiefs come to Oakland after a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Derek Carr has not been able to beat the Chiefs often, and the Chiefs are looking like one of the best teams in the NFL again this year.
There are many things to keep an eye on in this game, including the fact that Derek Carr is close to breaking Ken Stabler’s team record for passing yards. This is a Chiefs defense that is struggles against the pass, so expect Jon Gruden to exploit that on Sunday.
This is a completely new Oakland Raiders team, so looking at anything from the past will not provide any indication of what will happen in this game, so we will be looking at both team’s Week 1 performances, the position match ups between both teams, and give our predictions for the game.
