The Oakland Raiders begin their long trip away from RingCentral Coliseum on Sunday, as they head to Minnesota to take on the Vikings.

In what will be their first game away from RingCentral Coliseum until November, the Oakland Raiders will travel to Minnesota to take on the 1-1 Vikings. Both teams come into this game fresh off a loss, and for Oakland, it is paramount that they put their Week 2 home loss against the Kansas City Chiefs behind them.

In that game, the Raiders allowed 28 points to the Chiefs in the second quarter, which was all the scoring Patrick Mahomes and his Kansas City teammates would need on the day. The Raiders did get out to a 10-0 lead early on, but would not score after the first quarter, and fell to the Chiefs by the score of 28-10.

The Vikings took on a division rival as well this past weekend, going up to Green Bay to take on the Packers inside Lambeau Field. Kirk Cousins struggled to protect the ball, which is something the Raiders should look to key on when they face the Vikings this Sunday in an early start for those on the West Coast.

Sitting at 1-1 on the season, the Raiders have a chance to really make a statement on Sunday, but they will need to play better on both sides of the ball to do so.

Here is how you can catch all of the action Sunday:

Who: Oakland Raiders at Minnesota Vikings

When: Sunday, September 22, 2019

Where: U.S. Bank Stadium

Benson Mayowa has been an incredible addition this Raiders defensive line, as he already has 3.5 sacks this season, and has a nose for the ball. The Raiders were a bit banged up after the Chiefs game, as Tyrell Williams had a hip pointer, and Josh Jacobs had a groin, so keep an eye on their status throughout the week.

The bottom line is, outside of a tough second quarter, where Mahomes put up video game numbers, this Raiders defense shut the Chiefs out, and were very good against the run. They will need to be just as good against the run on Sunday, as they will be taking on a Vikings team with the league’s top rusher in Dalvin Cook.
