The Oakland Raiders hit the road in Week 3 of the 2019 NFL season, losing to the Minnesota Vikings in embarrassing fashion on Sunday afternoon.

The Minnesota Vikings got off to a hot start in their Week 3 matchup with the Oakland Raiders, running off 21 straight points to open the game. The Vikings were aided by some costly penalties on the first drive by the Raiders, and thanks to a Kirk Cousins to Adam Thielen long touchdown connection, Minnesota scored on their opening drive.

Throughout most of the first half, the Vikings dominated, and after costly penalties, and a costly interception by Derek Carr, the Raiders finally settled down. They scored their first points in the game in the second quarter on a J.J. Nelson touchdown grab off a flea flicker, and nearly pulled within one score late in the first, but Carr missed Darren Waller a bit high on third down.

Oakland kicked off the second half with the ball, and after a three-and-out, it was all Minnesota.  They ran the ball down the Raiders throats on offense, and on defense, they forced Carr and company to really struggle throughout.

The Raiders were able to get another touchdown on the board late in the fourth quarter, as Carr hit Tyrell Williams for a touchdown for the third straight game. It was too little too late, as the Raiders were not in this one after halftime.

In total, it was an embarrassing loss for the Raiders, who will now head into Week 4 sitting below .500. While the loss last week hurt due to the fact it was the Kansas City Chiefs, this one was more concerning, as they really looked overmatched throughout all four quarters.

Here are the highlights.
