Offensive Line Humbled

Remember in Week 1 when this Raiders offensive line held the combo of Von Miller and Bradley Chubb to zero sacks? Since then, Oakland has allowed seven sacks in the last two games to the Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings.

On Sunday, Everson Griffen had himself a day, and it came at the expense of Kolton Miller. Miller, who was solid in that Week 1 divisional matchup, had a rough going on Sunday in Minnesota.

Last season, Derek Carr suffered the third-most sacks of all quarterbacks with 51 on the season. Carr has shown his ability to escape the pocket and make a play on the run, but he is at his best when given time to go through his reads in the pocket.

The offensive line was meant to improve this season, but Sunday’s four-sack outing leaves much to be desired. If this continues to be a trend, it could be a disappointing deja vu of last season. The offensive line is banged up, but it has to overcome that obstacle nonetheless
