The Oakland Raiders bounced back with a vital win, on the road, over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4. Here’s our recap of the Raiders’ second victory of the season.

After two back-to-back lackluster showings in Week 2 and Week 3, the Oakland Raiders faced a limited Indianapolis Colts team in Week 4. Despite being on the road, Oakland had a very winnable matchup ahead of them, with the chance to get a vital win as they continued this road stretch.

The first quarter could not have started out better for the Raiders, who jumped out to an early 14-0 lead over the Colts. Derek Carr was precise on the opening drive, capping it off with an early touchdown pass to Foster Moreau. Trevor Davis, in his Raiders debut, made it 14-0 with a 60-yard jet sweep. A Josh Jacobs fumble allowed Jacoby Brissett to connect with Jack Doyle to make it 14-7, but Oakland won the first quarter battle.

It was business, as usual, to start the second quarter, for Tyrell Williams at least. Another week, another touchdown for Oakland’s number one receiver, who hauled in a beautifully thrown 19-yard throw from Derek Carr. After dealing with a Vontaze Burfict ejection midway through the quarter, the Raiders defense held a Colts drive to just a field goal, making it 21-10 and keeping it that way through the half.

In the second half, it was both units doing their job in moving the chains and bottling up the Colts’ offense respectively. After managing just a field goal in the third quarter, the Colts responded with a 14 play drive that resulted in a Chester Rogers touchdown, making it 24-17.

Despite it keeping it close, the Raiders defense stepped up when it needed to, with Erik Harris sealed the game with a pick-six off of Jacoby Brissett, making it 31-17. Brissett and the Colts made it interesting late with an Eric Ebron touchdown, but the Raiders held on 31-24 to move to 2-2 on the season.
