Kansas City Chiefs
There was a brief scare at Ford Field on Sunday, as the Kansas City Chiefs were given all they could handle by the Detroit Lions. The Lions have clearly bought into what Matt Patricia has instilled in year two of his coaching tenure, and it showed on Sunday when they kept Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense stagnant for a majority of the game.
In the end, however, the Chiefs are the AFC West favorites for a reason, and Kansas City saw Mahomes make more plays with his legs than usual. The reigning MVP helped set up a late touchdown with just 20 seconds left on the clock to escape Ford Field with a win.
The Chiefs defeated the Lions 34-30, sending Detroit to 2-1-1 on the season. For the Chiefs, they are the only undefeated team left in the division, and based on how they have looked this season, the rest of the division is playing for a Wild Card spot.
