Denver Broncos

Vic Fangio owes his first win as head coach of the Broncos to running back Phillip Lindsay. By no means did Joe Flacco beat the Chargers with his arm, as he had a decent but not spectacular showing. Flacco had 182 yards passing and a touchdown, but also threw an interception and was sacked three times by Los Angeles.

Instead, it was Lindsay who effectively put the team on his back. Lindsay had 15 carries for 114 yards and one touchdown run, with his longest carry of the day going for 32 yards. Sunday’s win against the Chargers was Lindsay’s best rushing performance of the season.

The victory is the Broncos’ first of the season, who are clearly the worst of the AFC West, still finding themselves at the bottom of the division. A win over a divisional rival is valuable nonetheless, and it helps the Raiders as well in the long run.
