Chicago Bears at Oakland Raiders: 3 things we learned
Josh Jacobs was worth the first-round pick
Drafting a running back in the first-round isn’t exactly the blueprint throughout the NFL, but Jon Gruden strongly believed Josh Jacobs was the next superstar running back. Jacobs has shown immense promise through the first couple of weeks, but the London game was where Jacobs showed to be every bit of worth that first-round selection.
Jacobs had his biggest day in a Raiders uniform, recording 26 carries for 123-yards and two touchdowns. He also caught three passes for 20-yards, which is his highest mark of receptions in a single game.
The offensive game plan this week was clear, get the ball into the hands of Jacobs. His efforts in the offense was the determining factor in the win. The Raiders fed off his big runs, and utilized play-action to get their passing game going early on. One thing that’s certain, Jacobs can handle a full workload, a flourish while doing so.
