2020 NFL Draft: Las Vegas Raiders 7-round mock draft

The Raiders have been able to function on offense without a number one receiver thus far, but it is still an area that needs to be addressed this offseason.

Clemson has been putting a good amount of receivers into the NFL during the Dabo Swinney era, and Tee Higgins is next in line. We know the Raiders pay close attention to Clemson prospects, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they make this pick.

Higgins has a big frame at 6’4 200 and knows how to use his size and length in contested catch situations. He is not a burner, but his long strides allow him to eat up cushions and be a sufficient threat down the field. Higgins also has a nose for the endzone with 17 touchdowns thus far in his career.

Off the snap, Higgins can beat press coverage, which is paramount for any receiver transitioning to the NFL and is sure-handed with only two drops in 2018.

Higgins’ overall speed is what will have some people a little concerned about taking him in the top half of the first round. His route tree is also not at the level of guys like Jerry Jeudy, Tyler Johnson, and CeeDee Lamb, so that will be a point people will over-analyze.

However, you don’t find guys who can win in the air like Higgins, and with how much Derek Carr loves to those fades down the sideline, he is a great fit.
