Arden Key

Arden Key was drafted by the Oakland Raiders last year as a player who Jon Gruden hoped could help the team get to the quarterback. In his rookie season, Key only recorded one sack, but the fact that he was an undersized rookie was enough reason to give him a pass.

This offseason, Key was said to have packed on a lot more muscle and improved his game a ton. He performed well in the preseason, but his skills have not transferred over to real games. Key has not recorded a single sack in the first four games of the season and only has one tackle.

Not only has Key completely underperformed, but other defensive ends on the team have stepped up. Clelin Ferrell was a first-round pick this year, Benson Mayowa is top ten in the NFL in tackles, Maxx Crosby has been the best surprise of the team this year, and Josh Mauro has played well.

If the Raiders do not feel like they will get much out of Key, now is the time to trade him. He is still a raw talent, he is in his second season of his career, and the Raiders are not weak at the defensive end position anymore. Raider Nation had high hopes for Key heading into 2019, but it is starting to look like it may not be a good fit.
