Final Thoughts

Josh Jacobs has been fantastic over the course of the first five games. His willingness to learn and to execute are not comparable to current rookies. His running style reminds me of another great running back, Clinton Portis.

Portis was fast and he was shifty. But his vision is what made him great. He could see the holes before they opened and he exploded through them. Jacobs is much the same way. I’m impressed in his ability to see where the holes are going to be and how patient he is.

Jacobs is proving to be more than a late first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Not only is he making a difference on the team, but he’s making a difference when he does things like stay away from the cameras during Hard Knocks to focus on being a better player.

Jacobs is making a good case for being the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year.
