Ryan Wilson – CBS Sports

Pick No. 14: Jeff Okudah, CB, Ohio State

Pick No. 21: Laviska Shenault Jr., WR, Colorado

Ryan Wilson released his mock draft yesterday, and before you get mad, the draft order is based on SportsLine Superbowl odds projections.

Wilson has the Raiders addressing correct positions of need at cornerback and wide receiver, but it interesting that he has Jeff Okudah dropping this far. Most mocks and draft boards have him as the top player at his position and going in the top ten of the draft. Perhaps he knows something within the league on how teams feel towards Okudah, or he could just be lower than the consensus, which is perfectly fine.

Raiders fans may be a little worried about taking another Ohio State cornerback, given how up and down Gareon Conley has been. However, Okudah has the athleticism, physicality and man coverage skills to be a number one guy in the NFL

Then he has Oakland addressing their receiver depth by adding the dynamic Laviska Shenault Jr from Colorado. Not the most polish receiver for the bunch, but he is a playmaker that will excel in yards after the catch. With the Raiders’ quick passing game, Shenault Jr is the type of player that would be a good fit. However, given how many positions he’s had to play in Colorado’s offense, he will need time to polish his receiver skills early in his career.
