Josh Jacobs

Josh Jacobs is coming off his best perforce yet, against the Chicago Bears, and there’s no reason Gruden will shy away from feeding his rookie running back the football against the Green Bay Packers.

The recipe is clear for the Oakland offense — own the time of possession with Jacobs, and put Derek Carr in situations to complete throws at a highly accurate rate. In games the Raiders have won, Jacobs averages 22 carries and 95.6 yards. Considering that, in games the Raiders have lost, Jacobs averages 11 carries and 71.5 yards.

Sticking with the running game looks to be a no brainer for Gruden’s offensive game plan. The Packers run defense averages 124.5 yards allowed per game, whereas the Raiders running attack averages 134.4 yards per game. Expect the former Crimson tide running back to get his name called early and often.

Jacobs will be a key component to watch in week seven as Oakland will have their hands full to overcome the 5-1 Packers.
