Oakland Raiders at Green Bay Packers: 3 things to watch in Week 7
By Daniel Davis
Raiders Offensive Line Protecting Derek Carr
In the three wins the Raiders have, the offensive line has played incredible. In the two losses, they’ve played awful. The trend is there and it’s time for the Raiders offensive line to be more consistent in wins and losses.
This offensive line is one of the best in the league. In the Bears game, Kolton Miller took on Khalil Mack over 25 times and didn’t allow pressure or a sack. Against Denver, Trent Brown and Kolton Miller didn’t allow a single pressure against Von Miller and Bradley Chubb. The line is a great group that needs to play more consistent.
Brown is listed as doubtful with a calf issue, which means David Sharpe and Brandon Parker are likely to split time at right tackle in this one. The Packers have two very good pass rushers in the Smith’s, Preston and Za’Darius, so keeping them away from Carr will prove crucial in this one.
Conclusion
If the Raiders can stop the Packers run game while playing disciplined defense, they have a good chance of winning. Then on offense, they have to control the clock by running the ball with rookie Josh Jacobs pounding the rock up the middle while keeping Rodgers on the sideline.
