Looking Ahead

The Raiders will continue their road swing in Week 8, as they travel to Houston to take on the Texans in a battle of two teams looking to make noise in the AFC playoff picture. Oakland’s defense struggled mightily against Aaron Rodgers in this one, and on Sunday, they will have to face a dynamic player in Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.

These are two teams that will be in play for a playoff spot all season long, and it will be interesting to see what Raiders defensive coordinator Paul Guenther can dial up against a tough offense in Week 8. Watson is the kind of quarterback who can make plays with his legs, and his arm, and after Sunday, the Raiders have a ton of questions on the defensive side of the ball.

After the Texans game, the Raiders finally get to head home, as they will welcome the Detroit Lions to town in Week 9. Overall, this has been a very successful start to the 2019 NFL season, but Week 7 showed big weaknesses in this roster, and they will have to adjust before facing Watson and company next Sunday.
