The Oakland Raiders have traded starting cornerback Gareon Conley to the Houston Texans, leaving an opening at the position.

Less than 24 hours after getting torched by Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, Oakland Raiders cornerback Gareon Conley was sent packing. The team traded the 2017 24th overall pick to the Houston Texans for a third rounder in the upcoming draft.

Oakland has struggled in coverage this season allowing 376.5 passing yards per game, the ninth most in the NFL. While Conley isn’t the sole reason for the defensive woes, he certainly didn’t help solve the problem.

On the year, the Ohio State product has allowed a passer rating of 126.0, a completion percentage of 69.2 and four touchdowns when targeted. Dating back to last season, he struggled to pick up defensive coordinator Paul Guenther’s system and that problem looks like it continued in 2019.

While the former first round pick wasn’t performing well, the trade does leave the Raiders with a vacancy at one of the two starting cornerback positions. Barring another acquisition before next week’s trade deadline, the void requires one of the organization’s young assets to step up.

So who are the team’s options to start along Daryl Worley? Well, let’s take a look.
