Looking Ahead
Sunday’s loss was one of the more disappointing of the season, as they had every opportunity to go into Houston and win this game. In fact, the Texans lost star defensive end J.J. Watt in the game, but the Raiders defense failed to show up when it counted late.
For Oakland, they now have to turn the page, as this was a tough loss against an AFC team that could end up with the tie-breaker with them when it comes to the Wild Card picture this season. The Raiders have some very winnable games on the horizon, but if they play defense like they did on Sunday, it is going to be another year outside of the playoffs.
The Raiders officially look like a playoff contender, and the game against the Lions inside the Coliseum next Sunday should be a good one. Of course, Oakland continues to struggle against the pass, so it will be interesting to see what they can do against Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions in Week 9.
