The Lions lack of a running game

The Detroit Lions will be without starting running back Kerryon Johnson this week, so the team will look to Ty Johnson to carry the load this week. Even before this game, the Lions only average about 97 rushing yards per game, and without their starter, that number is bound to go down.

One difference from this season to previous ones is the Raiders run defense. The Raiders have one of the best rushing defenses in the NFL, allowing only 92.9 rushing yards per game.

This should be another game where the Raiders completely shut down the run, and the Lions will have to completely rely on the passing game to win on Sunday. Fortunately for the Lions, the Raiders struggle mightily against the pass, so it will be interesting to see how Oakland attacks them on Sunday.
