The Detroit Lions head to the Coliseum on Sunday, as the Oakland Raiders finally return home for a Week 9 clash between two playoff contenders.

After a long hiatus away from the Coliseum, the Oakland Raiders finally return home in Week 9, as they welcome in the Detroit Lions. Oakland has not played inside their home building since their Week 2 loss at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs, but this team has come a long way since then.

Since leaving Oakland, the Raiders have shown flashes that they could be a playoff contender in 2019. They went across the pond to beat Khalil Mack and the Chicago Bears, as well as heading to Indianapolis to beat a Colts team that currently sits at 5-2.

There was a stinker in there, as they were blasted by Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, but they hung in tough with the Houston  Texans the last time out. Overall, it was a decent showing by this young team, as the season gets significantly easier over the next nine games.

Sunday, they welcome in a Lions team that is fresh off solid victory over the New York Giants in Week 8, and they are getting great play from quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Here is how you can watch all of the action online:

Stafford continues to put up big numbers, and he has this organization trending in the right direction. For Oakland to win this game on Sunday, they are going to have to get a better effort from their defense, who had no answer for Deshaun Watson last Sunday in Houston.

Raiders wise to stay put at the trade deadline. dark. Next

This has the markings of being a high-scoring game, as both team have found it easy to put points on the board in recent weeks. Raiders quarterback Derek Carr had his highest rated game of the season in Week 8, taking multiple shots downfield, but this one will all come down to which defense can step up and make a big play late.
