2020 NFL 7-round mock draft: Raiders bolster edge, WR in 1st round
The Raiders can use all the help they can get when it comes to their abysmal secondary. Paul Guenther’s scheme can be a complex one, but Florida State’s track record of defensive backs just seems to pump them out.
Levonta Taylor is exactly what an NFL nickel corner looks like. His coverage skills are solid, however when he matches up against larger receivers it could become an issue in the NFL. He was the No.1 high school cornerback recruit for a reason — cover ability in the slot and his competitive nature.
The Florida State defensive back has averaged 19 tackles and one interception during his college career. While his numbers don’t flash very much, he projects as a depth piece for an NFL secondary.
Pros:
- Footwork
- Technique
- Coverage ability
Cons:
- Size
- Power
- Getting through traffic
