Tyrell Williams

That last offense drive against the Texans was not the best showing for Tyrell Williams. He had two drops both, which would have been huge chunk plays, so despite his 3 catches for 91 yards and a touchdown, those missed opportunities proved crucial.

However, there is no reason to doubt Williams’s ability to bounce back, he has been great for the Raiders when on the field and still leads the team in touchdowns and yards per reception. He also the lone reliable deep threat among the receivers but will be put to the test this week against cornerback Darius Slay.

Slay is one of the better cornerbacks in the league and has never really gotten the credit he deserves. There were rumors he could be moved during the trade deadline due to his disagreement with management trading longtime Lions safety Quandre Diggs, but it didn’t happen.

Slay has been dealing with a hamstring injury but appears ready to go this week, so Williams will have to be able to win this one on one battle. The Lions like to play a ton of man coverage, and Slay is perfect for that style, so he’ll be right in Williams’s face most of the game.

Williams has had a touchdown in every game he’s played thus far, so he’ll see if he can keep his streak alive against a tough opponent.
