Oakland Raiders edge Detroit Lions 31-24 in Week 9

Looking Ahead

The Raiders will face their first divisional foe since Week 2 in Week 10, as they take on the Los Angeles Chargers inside the Coliseum on Thursday night. The Chargers are fresh off a dominating victory over the previous 7-1 Green Bay Packers, in a game that saw their defense absolutely stifle Aaron Rodgers.

Oakland will need to get past Los Angeles to keep their playoffs hopes alive, as they then take on the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets following the Chargers game. If they can string together wins in the next three games, that will send them into the Kansas City Chiefs game on the road sitting at 7-4.

The Raiders record currently stands at 4-4, and they are fully entrenched in the playoff race in the AFC. The Chargers certainly looked good in Week 9 against the Packers, so it will take a huge effort on a short week to beat the division rival on Thursday night.
