The Offense Carries to Victory

The Raider offense continues to carry this team, and it was great again this week with over 450 total yards and was efficient in the pass and run game. Derek Carr keeps playing well and seems to be in full control of the offense as he was great on the game-winning drive going 3 of 4 for 63 yards and some beautiful throws.

On the ground, Josh Jacobs continues to make his push for offensive rookie of the year with 120 yards and two touchdowns. Jacobs has proven his worth as a first-round pick, but his success is also a representation of how great this offensive line is.

With Rodney Hudson out and losing Trent Brown during the game, they were still opening up huge running lanes and keep Carr clean. As much as we killed Tom Cable during the offseason, this line has played well despite multiple injuries throughout the year, and he definitely deserves some credit.

Finally, we have to acknowledge how good of a game Jon Gruden has been calling this season. He continually exploited the Lions’ propensity to run man coverage with multiple crossing routes and working out of bunch sets. The Raiders only had two drives that didn’t chew up at least 40 yards, so they move the ball all game along.

This was as good of a game as you can ask for from the offense, but this may have to be the norm given what else we learned during this game.
