The AFC West bounced back strong in Week 9 as the division went undefeated on Sunday. Here is the week that was for the Oakland Raiders and their division rivals.

After seeing just one team add to the win column last Sunday, the AFC West bounced back in full force in Week 9. Each team recorded a win as the division as a whole went undefeated. While the result of going undefeated is a feat in of itself, the manner in which each team won was impressive as well.

The Oakland Raiders, finally coming back home after five weeks on the road, made plays when it mattered to reach .500 on the season. Backup quarterbacks led the way for the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos, while the Los Angeles Chargers just may have turned their season around.

Here’s the week that was for the AFC West, beginning with the Oakland Raiders.

Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders have endured plenty of obstacles to start this season, and a five-game stretch on the road was among them. The Raiders finally made their way back home, with the stage set for a matchup against Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions. It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t pretty either, but the Silver and Black came out on top, 31-24.

Josh Jacobs added another performance to his rookie of the year campaign, and Derek Carr again put on a 2016-esque fourth-quarter comeback drive. What a day it was for the Raiders rookies, as all four touchdowns were accounted for by members of the 2019 draft class (Jacobs, Foster Moreau, and Hunter Renfrow).

A wild card spot is not out of the picture, and the Raiders must ride this momentum on a short week with their division rival Los Angeles Chargers coming to town on Thursday night.
