The Raiders haven’t had continuity at the linebacker position in years. In the most recent draft’s the organization has continued to bring in free agent linebackers or draft one in the later rounds. Well, this could be the year they finally pony up a high draft pick to get their guy for the future.

Dylan Moses from Alabama illustrates a combination of a large linebacker, who also has speed at the position. He’s does well picking up running backs out of the backfield in man coverage, but has occasional breakdowns when playing in zone. Ultimately, he’s well polished in the run game, though, he still needs work in passing situations.

Moses was the No.1 linebacker on most people’s big boards entering the year, but suffering a torn ACL in August has put his junior season to a close. In Moses’ sophomore season he recorded 86 total tackles, 10 TFL’s, three and a half sacks, one pass defended, and one forced fumble.

Pros:

  • Size and speed combination
  • Sideline-to-sideline ability
  • Power

Cons:

  • Shed blockers
  • Inconsistency in coverage
  • Bend
