Scouting Report. 115. player. 819. Pick Analysis. Edge. Notre Dame. KhalidKareem
The Raiders have seen some recent successes in rushing the passer, but until they get some consistent sustainability, defensive end will continue to be a need for the team.
Khalid Kareem is someone who plays with much length and strength when fighting blockers, paving his way into the backfield. Kareem is a high effort player who uses a bull rush move most of the time. He’s still a work in progress developing counter moves, but his size is something that looks very appealing as an NFL edge rusher.
For an edge defender he does a quality job of racking up tackles when stopping the run, as he totaled 42 last season, with 10.5 TFL’s. This season, Kareem has recorded 31 total tackles, seven TFL’s, and 4.5 sacks.
Pros:
- Length
- Strong bull rush
- True 4-3 defensive end
Cons:
- Slightly stiff
- Counter moves
- Liability when asked to drop back
