Clelin Ferrell

It has been a bit of a rocky start for the number four overall pick, but he’s shown a lot of promise in the last couple of weeks. In the last two contests, Ferrell has racked up two and a half sacks, 12 tackles, two for loss, and three quarterback hits. All of those marks are higher than the first six games of the rookie’s career.

Especially after stumbling out of the gate, it can be hard for a player to build confidence in his first season. It looks like Ferrell is beginning to get his swagger back and he needs to continue to take advantage of poor offensive lines, so he can keep building confidence.

Whether it’s Ryan Finley or Andy Dalton, quarterbacks are running for the lives behind Cincy’s front five. The Bengals have allowed the seventh-most sacks in the NFL and Pro Football Focus grades the team in the bottom five for pass protection.

Look for another big day for the rookie defensive end and hopefully, there are many more to come.
