AFC West Roundup Week 11: Raiders and Chiefs in race for the top spot
Los Angeles Chargers
Vic Tafur of The Athletic hit the nail on the head in describing Philip Rivers’ performance on Monday night, and perhaps the state of his career to date. Indeed, Rivers is just not the same quarterback anymore, as he padded the stat sheet in terms of passing yards, but made too many mistakes.
Rivers threw for 353 yards in the 24-17 loss to Kansas City, but completed just around 53 percent of his passes and had a lone touchdown alongside four interceptions. He looked lost in the pocket, made terrible decisions, and really cost his Chargers a chance to get back in the race in the AFC West.
Either the last-minute interruption was a poorly thrown heave, or Rivers’ has clearly lost his ability to be sharp with the game on the line. Regardless, the Chargers are 3-7 and have legitimate questions moving forward and into next season.
Like Kansas City, the Chargers will have their bye week this weekend.
