1. Josh Jacobs

This game is going to ride quite heavily on the shoulders of running back Josh Jacobs. The rookie phenom may need to literally carry the Silver and Black to victory on Sunday. The workhorse will be leaned on heavily, and will need to prove that he is up to the task of taking on the league’s best unit against the run.

The big guys up front will be pivotal, but Jacobs is going to have to make opponents miss in space and avoid going down on first contact. Jacobs’ elusiveness has been on display this season, but this Jets front seven is formidable and do not miss many tackles.

Alec Ingold will be another focal point on offense, helping Jacobs spring into the second level where he can really how his explosiveness. Jacobs will need to be smart, follow his blockers, and run hard on Sunday to beat the Jets. This should be easy for him as week in and week out he has done just that. If there is only one way to describe Jacobs, it is that he runs hard every time he touches the ball.

If Jacobs has a good game, the Raiders will too. Jacobs’ play and Raiders wins seem to be positively correlated. Keep an eye on the front-runner for Offensive Rookie of the Year to have a great game and carry the Raiders to a 7-4 record, putting them one step closer to a playoff berth.
