Raiders’ defense stopping the run

With the Raiders heading to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Jets, their biggest task ahead will be how well they can stop Le’Veon Bell. The Raiders defense has allowed 100 rushing yards or more in three of their last four outings, and Sunday could be another one. Bell could be a problem on Sunday.

Despite Bell having a down season for his standards, who’s to say he won’t hit stride against a Raiders defense that does not stop the run effectively? A major component of Oakland’s failure to stop the run is their turnover at the linebacker position. It takes time of new players to get fully integrated into the defensive system, but only time will tell if their efforts will improve the Raiders run defense.

All indications are the game time weather could be in the mid-40’s with light rain. Both teams running attacks should be heavily leaned on. This is a group that continues to get better each week, and Bell is going to be one of their tougher tasks to date.
