Foster Moreau
The rookie tight end has put together a strong campaign as he is tied for the second-most receiving touchdowns among first-year players. Moreau has also been a significant contributor in the running game with the second-highest PFF run-blocking grade among tight ends in the draft class.
However, this Sunday he will be presented with a familiar face that is a very difficult matchup.
Jets’ safety Jamal Adams was teammates with Moreau for two seasons at LSU. Since entering the league, the defensive back as quickly emerged as one of the best at his position. Last season, Adams was a second-team All-Pro performer and with six sacks, 56 tackles, and two defensive touchdowns this year, it’s safe to say 2018 wasn’t a fluke.
As evidenced by the stats above, Adams can do it all and flies all over the field. Moreau needs to do everything he can to keep his former teammate in check and dampen the defensive back’s impact on the game. It will likely take a team effort to slow down Adams but don’t be surprised if Gruden frequently calls upon Moreau to accomplish this feat.
