CBS Sports – Chris Trapasso

Pick 14 – Henry Ruggs III, WR Alabama

Pick 19 – Isaiah Simmons, LB Clemson

The Raiders could still use some speed on both sides of the ball, and getting two of the best athletes in the draft would certainly help that.

CBS Sports writer Chris Trapasso has the Raiders doing just that by taking Henry Ruggs III and Isaiah Simmons.

Ruggs III has elite 4.2 speed and is capable of taking the top off a defense while at the same time taking a quick slant all the way. He is still developing the finer points of playing the position to complement his athleticism, but he’s certainly not just a one-trick speed guy. He can make plays in traffic and has sure hands, so he’d be a great addition to Jon Gruden’s offense.

Simmons is another athletic playmaker who could solve a ton of problems in the middle of the Raiders defense. He is a hybrid prospect capable of playing in the box as a standard linebacker, while also moving in the slot and coving tight ends when needed. Mayock surely knows of Simmons from all the Clemson prospects he scouted last year, so if he is available this late, this makes a lot of sense.
