DraftWire – Luke Easterling

Pick 14 – Henry Ruggs III, WR Alabama

Pick 19 – Isaiah Simmons, LB Clemson

I think draft analysts want the Raiders to select Henry Ruggs III and Isaiah Simmons. Draftwire’s Luke Easterling has the same two picks in the same order heading to Oakland.

This is second on this roundup, but there are multiple mocks out there, including one from our very own Brad Weiss that has the Raiders taking this combo of players.

It is not a bad take considering Clemson and Alabama have been the top two programs in college football the past four seasons and have talent all over their rosters. We know how much the Raiders valued these programs last season, taking Clelin Ferrell, Josh Jacobs, and Trayvon Mullen.

Both Ruggs III and Simmons provide versatility and know what it is like to be in big games so they could be ready to contribute right away just like this year’s rookies.

This combo of picks is also no doubt a reaction to the Raiders’ lack of big plays on offense and their propensity to give up big plays on defense.
