Raiders defense will limit big plays

The last time the Raiders and Chiefs met, the Raiders defense played three quarters of good football. However, their one quarter of bad football was horrendous, as they allowed 28 points off the right arm of Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Oakland was able to stop the Chiefs by limiting the run game and eliminating the speed of the offense by applying pressure up front. Since Week 2, the Raiders pass rush has stepped up significantly, with rookie Maxx Crosby leading the team with 7.5 sacks.

Look for the defensive line to attack the Chiefs and cause a disruption for Mahomes in this one. Defensive Coordinator Paul Guenther will look to put out a vastly improved game plan, with better expletive execution, to make sure that players are in the right position to make plays and not get beat deep. The secondary will have a test against the Chiefs receivers and they will need to dig deep and limit mistakes and shut down the big plays.
