Five Raiders who should be replaced as the team heads to Las Vegas
By Nick Ellis
Lamarcus Joyner
Lamarcus Joyner was brought to Oakland to play his old position of slot corner, but unfortunately, it has not worked out. Joyner has struggled at this position and would benefit the team much more if he was moved back to safety next year.
Joyner has not shown the ability to guard wide receivers in the coverages that the Raiders are putting him in, getting beat on routes, missing tackles, and being taken advantage of due to his size. Out of all the new players brought in, Joyner has to be considered one of the more disappointing up until this point.
Joyner gives up big plays consistently because of his height, and when lined up one on one with taller, faster receivers, he is clearly at a disadvantage. Mayock has shown his ability to draft cornerbacks, and I would expect him to do so again in this upcoming draft.
