The Raiders starting offensive tackles have been superior with Trent Brown and Kolton Miller allowing a clean pocket for the majority of the season. However, Oakland still remains looking for a swing tackle as Brandon Parker has not lived up to the hype of a third-round selection.

Jon Runyan is a stout offensive tackle out of Michigan who received first-team All-Big 10 honors in 2018. He’s most effective in passing situations with his fluid technique. Runyan could use a boost of additional lower body strength, but overall looks like he can stick at tackle for the long haul.

Runyan was a recipient of the 2018 Hugh H. Rader Memorial Award given to the team’s best lineman, joining his father, Jon Runyan who won the award in 1994. They go down as the only father-son combo to win the award at the University of Michigan.

Pros:

  • Pass protection
  • Fluid
  • Size

Cons:

  • Lower body strength
  • Extension
  • Finishing blocks can be a problem
